Yoga Programs

Beginner Yoga class will teach you the basic yoga (asanas) postures. The proper names will be taught along with alignment, breathing and relaxation. You will gain strength, flexibility and improve balance.

Gentle Yoga is a form of classical Hatha yoga, slower paced practice to make it more accessible to people of all sizes, ages, and fitness levels. Fears or challenges of doing yoga are removed. Gentle yoga also assists with stress reduction and weight management. It creates an atmosphere of safety and comfort, that encourages self-acceptance.

Healthy Back Yoga will focus on the structural alignment of the body through progressive asanas (postures). Props, such as belts, bolsters and blocks will be used to aid in the performing of specific postures. Strengthening the back and core and muscles will be emphasized. As well as relaxation/breathing techniques, balance and of course flexibility will be taught.

Moderate Yoga is a progressive class where more advanced postures will be explored. Also, we will work on holding postures longer. The linking of postures together into a more flowing, intuitive movement will be part of this class as well as a 10 minute relaxation at the end of class.

Flow Yoga is with breath and movement synchronized. You move from one pose to the next on an inhale or an exhale. Poses run together smoothly and become like a dance. This style allows for a lot of variety and will include Sun Salutations. Expect movement, not just stretching.

Beginner Flow Yoga is similar to beginner yoga with flow through the basic postures (asanas), connecting breath with movement. This is designed to increase, strength, balance and flexibility.

Power Yoga is a Vinyasa style yoga, closely modeled on the Ashtanga style of practice. Unlike Ashtanga, power yoga does not follow a set series of poses. The emphasis is on strength and flexibility. This is a vigorous, fast paced work out, while building heat in the body.

Heated Ashtanga Yoga is a more vigorous practise based on the set series of poses of traditional Ashtanga. It is designed to develop strength and flexibility with emphasis on the connection of breath and movement as you flow through the postures (asana). The heated room allows you to get deeper into the postures.
